Nike company's production process uses a big amount of leather and that influences factors such as high energy and water consumption and creates significant carbon footprint.

It was decided to limit these factors and to move into a new phase with Flyleather technology - new material with at least 50% recycled natural fiber leather.

In the usual process of leather production, waste pieces are destroyed and are usually found in landfills. Leather scrap pieces will be used to create Flyleather - it is said that this process should significantly reduce water consumption and lower carbon content emitted into the atmosphere.

Nike company's mission was not only to invent a better version of the leather, but also to re-develop the material production process, which is more sustainable.

Flyleather is lighter and more durable than traditional leather - it has undergone special tests and fatigue tests. There is also a quality that will be reflected in the appearance of already liked silhouettes, such as Air Force 1 or Air Jordan 1.

Flyleather is said to increase the complexity of laser decorations and printing capabilities on the shoes. We can only rejoice that the Nike company not only develops boots and takes care of the sports and leisure style fans, but at the same time, it is responsible for the consequences of the production processes.
